There is no reason to concentrate on microscopic aspects of life.  Our stay here is to short to be concentrating on anything other than your own life and what you plan to do with it.  Control freaks deserve no place in the life of the free.  So if you consider yourself trapped, or feel caged, stand up and fight for what you believe in.  

"Red pill, or blue pill?"

Life choices cannot be influenced by others.  The choice is yours alone, and no one can make it for you.  If you see a fork in the road, walk the one you feel is right or you will never be at rest with yourself for making the choice.
